The Origin of Fantasy Books

Lost World Fiction

Fantasy Fiction as we know it has only existed for two or three centuries. It was first published as Lost World fantasy. Lost World Fiction Was a genre of book where a world, or civilization, had been lost, or hidden for centuries eons, and was found. The genre became widely popular during the era when many ancient civilzations and cultures were bening unearthed throughout the world. This genre is depicted very well in the Indiana Jones Franchise.

Beginning of Fantasy

As Fantasy Fiction was developing through Lost World Fiction, it was also developing through the Romantic style of fiction. In Romantic Fiction, Fantasy was widely accepted, however some believed the stories to hold truth, because the stories were so believable, they are not considered Fantasy Fiction so much as they are sappy love stories. I don't like to read Romance, so I'll stop talking about it. I find Fantasy entertaining as well as thought provoking. When reading fantasy you have to throw away a certain amount of reason. Fantasy has become a huge portion of book sales world wide. I hope this article helped you learn a little something about my favorite genre, Fantasy.
