The Technology
If you haven't seen iRobot, well then I hope you watch it and enjoy my little article. Technology is used a lot in iRobot. It is used for everything from ordinary computing to controlling an army of robots. First I would like to run through the tech and then go over it in more detail. In this Blog, I will be going over the robots, talking about the supercomputer V.I.K.I., and the robotic limb that Will Smith has.Will's Robotic Arm
In the movie, Will Smith has a robotic arm that looks just as good as good as his real arm. One huge difference is that his robotic arm can withstand blows from a robot wielding a flagpole. I believe that to come up with this technology, we will first have to fit the power of hydraulics into the space of a human arm. We will also have to create a material light enough to be used as a robotic limb, while maintaining the strength of steel.V.I.K.I.
V.I.K.I. is the supercomputer at U.S. Robotics. She has developed her own personality, and can think and keep secrets. I think that computers will eventually become intelligent. I believe that we will be able to program them with personalities. However, I don't think that they will be able to keep secrets, and scheme behind our backs. At least not until we build them artificial brains.The Robots
Finally I would like to talk about the robots, but more specifically, Sonny. Sonny is a robot that has learned to feel emotions, and how to keep secrets. Like I said earlier, I don't think that robots will ever succeed in keeping secrets from humans. I would like to talk about robots feeling emotions. I believe that in the future, robots will be able to feel emotions, but not pain. I think that if we can program emotions into a computer program, then we will be able to program emotions into robots.I hope you will comment and tell me how you think technology will develop in the future.
